About Me
Most people know me from my work over at Tapbots. Paul and I started Tapbots for fun, but its success allowed us to make a career out of it. Before that, I was working for Oakley as a User Interface Designer.

I’m a half-Korean, half-American who grew up around the world as a military brat. I was born in Maine, but most of my childhood memories are from living in Japan, Korea, Hawaii, and California. As a result, I’d say most of my work is heavily Asian-influenced.
My “jack of all trades, master of none” mentality is definitely a Korean thing. While I wish I was really good at one thing, I’ve found it beneficial to be able to do many things. As they say, if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. Photography and Design are definitely my primary areas interest, but I really wish I was better at drawing. I always wanted to be an artist professionally.
When I’m not working, I love playing with cars, the drums, and video games. Most of the time I love my work as well. :)
I’m currently living in San Jose, California with my wife, son, and dog. My wife works at Google so I live vicariously through her as a Google employee.
Random Things About Me:
- I’ve never drank, smoked, or done any drugs in my life. I’ve never felt the need to fall for peer pressure. I like making my own decisions.
- Up until college, I was a huge athlete. I played organized baseball, basketball, and soccer from 7 years old up until high school. I was too small and intimidated try out for football in high school, but played with friends all the time. I was the JV MVP on my high school soccer team. Getting my first computer changed things. :P
- I’m very quiet and an extreme introvert, but I spoke in front of almost 2000 people at the 2009 Apple Developer Conference.
- I dropped out of college. Not because I couldn’t handle it. I just felt like I was learning much more at my first job as a web designer.
About this Site
This site is my personal writing space. I consider my writing skills subpar and the only way to improve is through practice. This site was hacked together using Textpattern and is served via MediaTemple. I’m using standard HTML, CSS and a tiny bit of JQuery. If the site looks broken, you probably aren’t using a modern browser.
